Trace a letter, just like in the app

Start at the green dot and follow the arrows, with a finger or the mouse. When the whole letter is written, Lalo celebrates.

Well done!

The method

It teaches the right stroke, not just the shape

  1. 1

    Where to start

A dot shows the starting point of each stroke, in the right order.

  2. 2

    Which way to go

The guide moves ahead of the finger: kids learn the movement instead of guessing it.

  3. 3

    Really finished

A letter is complete only when it's fully written. Then come the star, the sticker and the party.

Inside the app

What they learn, activity by activity

Real screens from Lalo, and what each one trains. Everything is hand-drawn, with no system emoji, so it looks the same on every phone and tablet.

Lalo — Letters, stroke by stroke

Letters, stroke by stroke

What your child does

They trace uppercase and lowercase letters with a finger: a dot shows where to start, numbers show the order of the strokes, and a voice says the letter and a word that starts with it.

Why it matters

Learning the right movement from the start makes handwriting smoother and more legible, and linking shape and sound is the first step towards reading.

Lalo — Numbers 0 to 9

Numbers 0 to 9

What your child does

They trace each digit with the same guide used for letters and hear its name.

Why it matters

Recognising and writing numbers prepares them for counting and the first sums at primary school.

Lalo — Building words

Building words

What your child does

They pick a picture and build its word letter by letter.

Why it matters

Putting letters together into words trains phonological awareness and vocabulary, the foundations of reading.

Lalo — Coloring inside the lines

Coloring inside the lines

What your child does

They choose one of 50 pictures and fill it with colors, one area at a time, then save it to the album.

Why it matters

Choosing, matching and finishing a picture trains attention, hand-eye coordination and the joy of completing something.

Lalo — Free drawing

Free drawing

What your child does

They draw whatever they like with brushes of different sizes, colors and an eraser.

Why it matters

Free drawing builds creativity and the fine motor skills they will need to hold a pencil.

Lalo — Counting for real

Counting for real

What your child does

They count the objects on screen and tap the right number.

Why it matters

Matching a real quantity to its number is the heart of number sense, before any arithmetic.

Lalo — Rewards that motivate

Rewards that motivate

What your child does

Every milestone earns stars, stickers and medals to collect in the album.

Why it matters

Seeing their own progress builds confidence and the wish to keep going, with no pressure and no comparisons.
